Liberty Box Finishing Touches

Finishing Up the Liberty Box from Fat Quarter Shop: Let’s Get Creative!

Hey everyone! Welcome to my sewing room! Today, we’re diving into a super fun and exciting project as we finish up the Liberty Box from Fat Quarter Shop. I’m thrilled to share this journey with you as we add some fun embellishments and find creative ways to use up almost every piece of scrap fabric. Nothing goes to waste in this sewing room!

Adding Fun Embellishments

Embellishments can take your quilt from beautiful to extraordinary. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  1. Label: Add some simple or intricate designs to give your quilt a unique touch.
  2. Embroidery: Personalize your quilt with some hand or machine embroidery. You can add names, dates, or even little patterns.
  3. Backing with some piecig: These can add texture and dimension to your quilt, making it even more special on both sides.

Using Up Every Scrap

Scrap fabric can be a treasure trove of possibilities. Here’s how you can use those little pieces:

  1. Scrappy Borders: Piece together your scraps to create a colorful and eclectic border for your quilt.
  2. Mini Blocks: Use scraps to make small blocks that can be incorporated into the quilt design, backing or used in other projects.
  3. Fabric Confetti: Turn tiny pieces into fabric confetti for a fun and whimsical look by sandwiching them between layers of tulle.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Gather Your Supplies: Make sure you have your Liberty Box, all your supplies.
  2. Plan Your Embellishments: Before you start sewing, lay out your quilt and decide where you want to place your embellishments. Planning ahead can save you time and ensure everything looks just right. But then again, sometimes you just have a stack of fabric at then end and then Im just looking for ways to squeeze them in.
  3. Sew It Together: Take your time and enjoy the process. Remember, this is your chance to be creative and make the quilt uniquely yours.
  4. Final Touches: Once all your embellishments are added and your scraps are used up, give your quilt one final press and make sure everything is secure.

Let’s Get Creative!

Grab your supplies, and let’s get creative together. This is your chance to make a quilt that is not only beautiful but also a true reflection of your creativity and resourcefulness. I can’t wait to see what we make together!

Happy Quilting!
